Jores Okore Aston Villa’s new signing under the Paul Lambert era as Lambert looks to cement a young squad together to progress the clubs fortunes in the Premier League. Okore 20 years old has signed for Villa along with Danish team mate Nicklas Helenius and Dutch midfielder Leandro Bacuna. Okore is an Ivorian born Danish centre back, Okore’s family moving to Denmark when he was 3 years old. Okore signed for Danish team FC Nordsjaelland being a quite major side in Denmark, Okore spent time in the Youth sides developing his game as a Centre Back. Although Okore is only 6 ft he is known for his power and strength when defending, he has an abundance of pace to go along with his power and strength. Okore is also very comfortable in possession of the ball, something which Villa have been looking to work on this year as Lambert looks to change there style of play with passing at speed along with counter attacking football.

Okore signed for F.C. Nordsjaelland back in 2007 where he captained the youth team until his league debut in 2011 against AC Horsens. Okore scored his first goal for the Danish side against Brondby in a 2-0 win back in September 2011, he was made vice-captain of Nordsjaelland for the season of 2012-13. Okore was linked with moves to Chelsea and Ukrainian side Metalist Kharkiv. But held out for the right move signing for Aston Villa on the 14 of June. Jores has also made international appearances for Denmark at both U21 level and the national team, where he has made 7 appearances for Denmark his debut coming in a friendly against Thailand.

Jonathan Williams

Wales' and Northern Ireland's

 

Jonathan Williams is the current name which surrounds most of the football gossip coming out of the papers, with his name being linked most recently with Manchester City. The 5ft 6 inch centre midfield has caught the eye of many other Premier League sides also, the 19 year old who plays for Crystal Palace has appeared 24 times for Palace this year taking the lead by storm with his ability to create opportunities for his side with his ability on the ball and his skillful dribbling to unlock defenses.

The young 19 year old broke in to the Palace side during the 2011-12 season where his performances in the academy and as he progressed to the reserve side where he was then placed on the first team bench for there game against Coventry City on the 16th of August where he came on as a substitute. He then made his full debut in a league cup game at home to Crawley Town in the League Cup where he assisted Palace’s first goal on the day. Williams went on to start the following League Cup game against Wigan Athletic scoring his first senior goal for Palace.

On 15 November 2011, Williams suffered a broken fibula in his right leg whilst on U21 international duty with Wales which forced him to miss the second and most of the final third of the season. After three months out, he returned to the starting line-up in what was his first game since the injury on 17 March 2012 at home to Hull City, playing 71 minutes.

Williams was the second youngest player to play for the Welsh under 21′s having just turned 17. Williams was called up to the senior Wales Squad on 3 October, following injuries to three players for the matches against Switzerland and Bulgaria. On 15 November 2011, Williams suffered a broken fibula in his right leg whilst on U21 International duty with Wales.

On 29 August 2012, Williams was again called up to the Wales senior squad by manager Chris Coleman to play in the World Cup qualifiers against Belgium and Serbia. In January 2013, he was selected in the Wales under-21 squad for the friendly match against Iceland on 6 February 2013, and scored one goal en route to a 3-0 victory.
